Konux combines machine learning and IIoT into software-as-a-service solutions for operating, monitoring, and automating maintenance processes. The company focuses on rail transport. By increasing capacity, reliability, and cost efficiency, Konux aims to strengthen rail as a mobility option. The startup was founded in 2014 by Andreas Loy, Dennis Humhal, Maximilian Hasler and Vlad Lata. Loy has served as CEO of the company since then and as Vice Chairman of the Board since 2021.

Now Andreas König is succeeding Loy as CEO. In his last role as CEO of Proglove, a company specializing in employee-centric wearable scanner solutions, Andreas König was responsible for the sale of the company’s majority stake to private equity firm Nordic Capital. Before that, he was CEO of software unicorn Teamviewer for nearly three years. As head of Swisscom IT Services AG, Andreas König successfully merged two business divisions with 4,500 employees and gained deep insights into the business requirements of a state-owned enterprise.

Andreas Loy explains:

“We are very pleased to welcome Andreas König as the new CEO of Konux. He was our absolute first choice to succeed me, and I am proud that he has decided to take on this position. Andreas is an extraordinarily experienced manager in the technology sector, and I am confident that Konux is well positioned with Andreas at the helm to enter the next phase of its global growth strategy. Andreas König’s leadership qualities, his extensive expertise in the technology sector, and his years of experience with Silicon Valley-based companies make him the ideal CEO to continue our company’s success story.”

König: “My goal is to make Konux an indispensable partner for railway companies around the world”

Andreas König says:

“I am very much looking forward to my new challenge at Konux. The team is excellent, the products highly innovative, and the rail industry is one of the most interesting sectors for deploying AI solutions to increase customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Just as I did at Teamviewer and Proglove, I want to focus on products and markets at Konux where I can help people do their work better. My goal is to make Konux an indispensable partner for railway companies around the world.”

Klaus Kleinfeld, Chairman of the Board and investor, praises the startup’s development and the new CEO:

“Konux has grown impressively over recent months. This shows that the industry is adopting and appreciating Konux’s innovative solutions because they bring significant added value to their organizations. I am confident that Andreas König, who has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to take company growth to a completely new level, will accelerate Konux’s growth trajectory. Andreas complements the Konux management team perfectly, and we look forward to Konux’s continued successful development.”

And Greg Papadopoulos, partner at NEA, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm and Konux’s largest shareholder, adds:

“Andreas König has an impressive track record of scaling companies. With his solid background in both software and hardware, he brings exactly the skills we need to continue building on our success.”
