Protein analysis using infrared spectroscopy is already established but suffers from low sensitivity and is time consuming. Only single measurements are possible.
A core component of this technology is the crystal (sample carrier) which must be cleaned and reused due to its high price. Our solution is a low-cost silicon crystal with a high sensitivity and its price is up to 100 times lower compared to conventional crystals. By integration into well plates for the first time high-throughput ATR (attenuated total reflection) Spectroscopy becomes possible. An automated solution enables the detection of changes in the secondary structures in stability studies.
