German-American Chamber of Commerce New York offers startup program

The German American Chamber of Commerce New York (GACC NY) is once again running its successful Startup & Entrepreneur Program (STEP NYC) from May 31 to June 5, 2015. This five-day travel program to New York City is aimed at ICT startups from across Germany. The goal of STEP NYC is to open the door to the US market for German startups seeking internationalization:

  1. Pitches to US VC investors and angel investors to ideally raise capital
  2. Networking with precisely fitting potential customers in the US market through the large corporate network of GACC New York
  3. Theoretical foundations for entering the US market through intensive expert workshops (legal and intercultural issues, company formation, pitch and sales training)

Suitable startups can quickly apply here.

There is capacity for up to 15 participating startups per trip. There are still some spots available.

The following must be presented:

1) A concrete Business idea with international orientation
2) A scalable business model
3) Short or medium term interest in US market entry
4) Ideally Generating revenue
5) Ideally already successfully completed investor rounds

The program structure is as follows:

  • 5-day program, which takes place 4 times a year
  • Capacity for up to 15 startups per trip
  • The target group are German startups from the following industries: ICT, media, gaming industry, cleantech, energy and general technology
  • The Travel and program costs are to be paid by the participating startups themselves.
  •  The Program costs per participating startup are EUR 3,000.- This entitles two people per startup to participate in STEP NYC.
  • The program is aimed at startups that are in the market testing phase or are already successfully established in Germany.
