The Social Innovation Award will be presented for the fourth time this fall as part of the social economy trade fair Consozial. The award offers startups a platform to gain attention from the social sector and acquire new customers and partners. The Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs is the patron.
All social startups are eligible to participate, regardless of whether they are exhibiting at Consozial 2024. The prerequisites are that the company is already established, has customers, and is less than five years old. Social innovations can come from the following areas:
- Education
- daycare
- Barrier-free living
- People with disabilities
- Care
And this is how it works: Until 10 July 2024, Social startups Apply for the Social Innovation Award. Submissions are made via a corresponding online form. A pitch presentation is also required; applicants can optionally upload a video of up to 60 seconds.
The winner of the Social Innovation Award is selected by a jury of experts and the social sector community through an online vote. The jury evaluates the submissions based on the originality of the innovation, application maturity, functionality, market potential, and social relevance.
The awards ceremony will take place on October 17, 2024, at Consozial. All nominated startups will receive a participation certificate and will be featured on the Consozial website. The winner of the Social Innovation Award will win a booth at Consozial 2025. The winning startup will also receive a statue, a winner's certificate, and a seat on the 2025 expert jury.
