At its Top 100 forum in Amsterdam, media company Red Herring announced the winners. They are honored for technical innovations in their respective industries. 3megawatt received the award for its BluePoint cloud platform, which enables companies to manage renewable energy assets. 3megawatt's customers include independent power producers, public utilities, investment funds, developers, and asset managers.
Difficult decision for the jury
Red Herring selected the winners from 1,200 European companies. Previous recipients of the award include Facebook, YouTube, Google, Twitter, Skype, Salesforce.com, and Spotify. Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring, emphasized the fierce competition: The jury found the 2016 decision more difficult than it has been in a long time.
