Gastrozentrale: Munich startup secures million-dollar investment

In a pre-Series A round, the Munich-based e-commerce startup Gastrando GmbH secured a seven-figure sum for its Gastrozentrale platform. Alongside the investment company LITTLEROCK and KfW, the METRO Group also participated in the digital marketplace for catering supplies.

Gastrozentrale launched in May 2015 with an angel investment of €100,000 and, according to the company, has been operating profitably since the end of last year. Its clients include Feinkost Käfer, the Hilton Group, as well as various hospitals and trendy restaurants. Moritz Grumbach, founder and CEO of Gastrando GmbH, says:

“With Gastrozentrale, we are helping to sustainably digitize the entire planning and procurement process in the restaurant industry.”

Grumbach further explains:

“From concept development to exhaust ventilation, from kitchen planning to staff recruitment, we offer everything from a single source – that’s what makes us so difficult to copy.”

Karsten Jansen, Managing Director at LITTLEROCK, is convinced of the company:

“We have been following the team closely for over a year and are deeply impressed by the growth they have generated, as well as the high-level lineup of clients.”

Gastrozentrale intends to invest the raised funds in new employees and the expansion of its marketplace and project business.
