Feierabendglück launches crowdfunding campaign for sustainable cookbook

The social startup After-work happiness starts its Crowdfunding campaign  on startnext.com! The first edition of what the startup calls probably the world's most sustainable cookbook [in a box] is being financed.

Here's how it works: For every Feierabendglück recipe box sold, €1.50 goes to the BioBoden cooperative, which purchases 1m² of land for organic farming in Germany and makes it available to organic farmers at fair prices. Thus, with every box purchased, the organic farming area in Germany automatically increases by 1m².

So what is behind [in a box]?

First of all, it is a nostalgically designed tin box with 52 vegetarian recipes on individual recipe cards, which provide guidance on when the fresh ingredients are in season and therefore regionally available.

"And because organic, locally grown vegetables are really cheap in season, all recipes with organic ingredients cost a maximum of €3.50 per person. This was important to us in order to get the usual critics of the supposedly inflated prices of organic products on board,"

explained Gertrud Deckers, co-founder and managing director of Feierabendglück GmbH.

A link and QR code on the back of each recipe card takes you directly to the corresponding online video with cooking instructions from Feierabendglück chef Luzia Veith.

"We've also developed Green Cards for that quick break while you're waiting for the rice to cook, or as a conversation starter while eating. We've thought outside the box and compiled over 20 suggestions from all walks of life on how to easily make your everyday life greener and more sustainable."

explained Michael Lindlbauer, founder and managing director The concept is at Feierabendglück. Additionally, you can also use the Green Cards to sort your recipes.

The fact that future-oriented paths should also be taken in production was Designer Brigitte Günther of great importance:

"We are particularly proud that our recipe cards are produced according to the cradle-to-cradle principle and can therefore be fully recycled into the biological cycle. This means we achieve the world's highest eco-printing standard!"

The vision of the three founders, Gertrud Deckers, Brigitte Günther, and Michael Lindlbauer: 100% Organic in Germany. Their vegetarian recipe box is intended to help make the consumption of seasonal, regional, and organic products as easy and attractive as possible.

"Because 95% of food is grown in the soil, it forms the basis of our livelihood and is becoming increasingly important due to the growing world population. Yet every year, 24 billion tons of fertile soil are lost due to, among other things, sealing and industrial farming practices,"

says Michael Lindlbauer. Organic farming, on the other hand, strengthens soil organisms and thus improves soil fertility in the long term.
