The Munich Startup Award will be presented on 16 July 2025 at the 3rd Munich Startup Festival The awards ceremony will take place at Backstage Munich. Participating startups will first be preselected, and the finalists will be nominated. The selected startups will then have the opportunity to pitch in the grand finale on the main stage in front of a distinguished jury and the audience. The jury will then select the winning team of the Munich Startup Award 2025. This team will receive €10,000 in prize money and be entitled to call itself "Munich Startup of the Year."

To apply To be eligible, participating companies must be no older than five years by the deadline of July 16, 2025. The business models, products, or services developed by the startup must pursue an innovative and scalable approach. Furthermore, a functional or demonstrable prototype of the product or service must already exist. All startups wishing to apply must be registered in our Startup listing be listed (enter here). Applications are possible until June 13, 2025.
The finalists are selected based on the degree of innovation, business idea, feasibility, market potential, competitive advantage, team, scalability, customer loyalty and social impact.
With a victory at the Munich Startup Award 2025, a young company follows the previous winners 2NA Fish, Cleverciti, Catchys, Inveox, Hawa Dawa, Pylot, Pixel Robotics and Deep DriveIn previous years, the award was presented at the Munich startup conference Bits & Pretzels. Since 2023, the awards ceremony has taken place at the Munich Startup Festival.
