The Vienna Pioneers Festival celebrates the makers of tomorrow. A jury selected seven top startups from 500 nominees. Among the honored young companies were three Munich-based startups. The main prize, endowed with €500,000, went to the Copenhagen-based financial startup Pleo.
Among the top 7 startups of the Pioneer Festival are the Munich startups tacterion, ParkHere and ICAROS.
With its SensorSkin sensor technology, tacterion offers new possibilities for human-machine interaction. The Munich-based high-tech startup's products make products, devices, and machines touch-sensitive. This allows the familiar interaction experience of touchscreens to be extended to virtually any surface. In our portrait you can learn more about tacterion.
ParkHere has developed a self-powered sensor system for locating available parking spaces in real time. The ground sensors are embedded in parking areas or street entrances and exits and generate their own energy through energy harvesting. This energy is used to detect parking activity and to transmit the information to the ParkHere database via the mobile internet. The technology is already being used in Ingolstadt.
