Munich-based startup Hive Robotics has successfully closed an oversubscribed pre-seed funding round, raising two million euros. The round was led by B2venture, with participation from notable investors including Firedrop, Pareto, Matthias Hilpert, and the Klocke Group. The startup will use the fresh capital to expand its team and consistently execute its roadmap.

Integrated robotics for air, land, and sea

Hive Robotics develops an AI-powered platform that bundles robot control, sensing, localization, and secure communication in modular units. The goal is seamless collaboration between unmanned systems—from drone swarms to large ground and maritime vehicles. Data exchange occurs through distributed sensor fusion and a proprietary onboard AI module.

CEO and co-founder Sebastian Mores explains:

“The next phase of automation will be shaped by the deployment of millions of unmanned systems—on land, at sea, and in the air. The base technologies have existed for years—but true integration in human environments requires uncompromising safety, robust communication, and global standards. Above all, systems must be able to work seamlessly together. That’s exactly where Hive Robotics comes in: we create reliable solutions that connect and control unmanned systems across all domains. This makes teaming and swarming concepts practically implementable. At the same time, we’re establishing the foundation for industrial-scale production in collaboration with OEM partners. We’re thrilled to have investors on our side who share our mission: to establish robotics collaboration globally.”

CTO and co-founder Burak Yüksel also emphasizes the potential:

“After many years in aerospace, I know: uncoordinated control and communication are central weaknesses. We founded Hive Robotics to bundle control, perception, and communication on a modular platform. Our technology ranges from lightweight drones to heavy maritime and ground vehicles and leverages networked sensor data, allowing systems to support each other. At scale, this opens up enormous potential.”

Hive Robotics sees itself as a central player for future use cases such as disaster response, infrastructure monitoring, and space exploration. The team is supported by investors who have been in contact with the founders for years and highlight their expertise in aerospace and robotics.

Gerrit Jurilj, partner at B2venture, comments:

“We’re very excited about our partnership with Hive Robotics. We’ve known the founders for many years and have witnessed firsthand how they built and led some of the most ambitious aerospace programs—with unique expertise in drone hardware and software, secure communication, and autonomous systems. Their integrated approach to command, control, and communication fills a critical gap in the robotics industry and positions Hive Robotics as an important enabler for the next generation of unmanned systems.”
