The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) recently selected the best startup ideas at the Strascheg Award 2025. In three categories, the jury recognized creative and entrepreneurially strong teams.

In the “Best idea from studies” category, Nexpaper took first place. The team developed an AI-based assistant system to optimize paper production for manufacturers of tissue, decorative, and packaging papers. The solution is designed to make production processes more efficient and sustainable. Second place went to Addpower, a plug-and-play drive system for LEGO cars that is universally compatible with all manufacturers and models, bringing the vehicles to life—an idea that emerged from a student’s hobby. Third place was taken by Mikrofox, which impressed with compact technology for microbial analysis in research and development.

Strascheg Award: “Wide range of topics”

In the “Best idea Research & Alumni” category, Cancelight won with an AI-powered device for precise tumor characterization that supports patients and pharmaceutical companies in selecting the most effective individual therapies. Xpert Connect came in second place with an intelligent platform that quickly and transparently connects companies with vetted coaches and trainers. Third place went to Wattwert, a digital platform for energy-efficient building renovation that guides property owners from analysis to implementation.

In the “Best idea from the SCE Ecosystem” category, Saemyra Labs impressed with innovative recycling technology that makes plastic processing more energy-efficient and less toxic than conventional methods. Livinglines took second place with an AI-powered math learning app that provides individual support to students and relieves teachers. Third place went to Doctalk, an AI-based language learning and training tool that helps international nursing and medical professionals learn German medical terminology in a practical way.

Jury member Konstantin Hähndel, CEO of Accumulata Real Estate, is impressed:

“I was thrilled by the wide range of topics. The spectrum ranged from essential to society to highly technological, highly scalable, and disruptive business ideas.”

With the Strascheg Award, the SCE honors creative and forward-looking startup ideas from Munich’s university and startup scene each year. The 2025 winners once again demonstrate how dynamic and diverse the innovation landscape of the Munich region is.
