The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) recently selected the best startup ideas at the Strascheg Award 2025. The jury honored creative and entrepreneurial teams in three categories.
Nexpaper secured first place in the "Best Student Idea" category. The team developed an AI-based assistance system to optimize paper production for manufacturers of tissue, decorative, and packaging paper. The solution is designed to make production processes more efficient and sustainable. Second place went to Addpower, a plug-and-play drive system for Lego cars that is universally compatible with all makes and models, bringing the vehicles to life – an idea that emerged from a student's hobby. Third place went to Mikrofox, which excelled in research and development with a compact technology for microbial analysis.
Strascheg Award: “Wide range of topics”
In the "Best Idea Research & Alumni" category, Cancelight won with an AI-supported device for precise tumor characterization that supports patients and pharmaceutical companies in selecting the most effective therapies for each individual. Xpert Connect took second place with a smart platform that quickly and transparently connects companies with certified coaches and trainers. Wattwert, a digital platform for energy-efficient building renovations that supports owners from analysis to implementation, followed in third place.
In the "Best Idea from the SCE Ecosystem" category, Saemyra Labs impressed with a novel recycling technology that makes plastics processing more energy-efficient and less toxic than conventional methods. Livinglines took second place with an AI-supported math learning app that provides personalized support to students and relieves teachers. Third place went to Doctalk, an AI-based language learning and training tool that helps international nurses and doctors learn German medical terminology in a practical way.
Jury member Konstantin Hähndel, Managing Director of Accumulata Real Estate, is impressed:
"I was fascinated by the wide range of topics. The spectrum ranged from those essential to our society to high-tech, highly scalable, and disruptive business ideas."
