The Startup Dyemansion is integrating ASM, a young Munich-based company specializing in vapor smoothing, the post-processing of 3D-printed plastic parts. A machine treats the components with a special vapor that smooths and seals the surface. This results in products that not only look higher quality but are also more stable, hygienic, and denser.
Dyemansion expands its portfolio
With this acquisition, Dyemansion expands its product range to include ASM's VX1, an entry-level solution for smaller production environments. The portfolio now covers three product levels, ranging from basic to highly industrial solutions. Vapor smoothing is considered the largest market segment in the post-processing of additively manufactured components.
“We are pleased to announce that Dyemansion has acquired ASM. The 3D printing industry needs strong players who can sustainably consolidate the market and lead it into the next phase. That is precisely our mission at Dyemansion – and with the acquisition of ASM, we are sending a clear signal to the market and our partners. We have been working together successfully for several years, and the ASM team has done an outstanding job. We are delighted to now officially welcome them as part of the Dyemansion family.”
explained Felix Ewald, CEO & Co-Founder of Dyemansion.
ASM was founded in 2021 and launched the VX1 in 2024. The system quickly established itself as a compact entry-level solution in the field of vapor smoothing. The VX1 uses an environmentally friendly, reusable solvent and processes materials such as PA12, PA11, and TPU.
“With its strong market position and global distribution network, Dyemansion is the ideal partner for our technology. Together, we can now make our entry-level vapor smoothing solution accessible to a much broader market and further increase its value to the industry. Our successful distribution partnership last year has already taken ASM to a new level, and I look forward to continuing this journey as part of the Dyemansion team, ensuring the best possible support for all existing and new VX1 customers and partners.”
says Philipp Ziegler, Co-Founder of ASM and now Global Product & Market Manager VX1 at Dyemansion.
Dyemansion last received a €15 million investment from the European Innovation Council and the European Investment Bank in 2022. Even then, the startup was considered a technology leader for Post-processingWith the integration of ASM, the company is gaining further importance in the 3D printing industry.
