Exomatter wins EU Innovation Award

This year's overall winner of the EU's Innovation Radar Prize is Exomatter. The Commission thus underlines the Munich-based startup's contribution to an innovative and climate-conscious industry.

Exomatter impresses the European innovation scene: The Startup has secured the overall victory at the Innovation Radar Prize 2025. The award is presented by the European Commission to startups and SMEs that have received EU funding for their innovations. Organized by the European Commission and the "Innovation Radar Bridge" initiative, this eleventh edition of the award ceremony took place at the Unicorn Factory Lisboa in Portugal.

At the event, twelve finalists presented their innovations and market launch plans to a jury of investors and entrepreneurs. The startups from across Europe competed in three award categories: “Climate, Energy & Mobility”, “AI & Digital Intelligence”, and “Smart Hardware & Robotics”.

Exomatter started in the "Climate, Energy & Mobility" category and ultimately emerged as the overall winner across all categories. The team is working on a platform for materials research and development. Their solution offers easily searchable, AI-powered datasets for scientific materials screening. Powerful filters and an AI agent support researchers and developers in finding the most suitable sustainable materials for their needs. This should enable companies to accelerate their transition to a circular and sustainable future.
