The Munich startup Arx Robotics Ukraine is delivering more Gereon series unmanned ground systems to the country, thus building the world's largest networked military robotics fleet. The systems have been deployed in the region since the beginning of the year, and this current order is the third expansion of the existing fleet.
In parallel, Arx Robotics is further expanding its production and supply chain structures in Ukraine. Parts of the manufacturing process take place at the company's Ukrainian plant, while local partner companies are increasing their capacities. This strengthens Arx Robotics' industrial base in the region and simultaneously increases the resilience of its own supply chain.
Scalable fleet structure for flexible deployments
The new Gereon series ground vehicles are connected to a coordinated network via the AI-powered Mithra OS operating system. This enables several hundred units to operate simultaneously, exchange data, and adapt to tactical changes in real time. Mithra OS integrates sensors, autonomous functions, and interfaces to other platforms. This creates a scalable, software-defined fleet structure that can respond flexibly to changing operational scenarios.
The fleet is deployed across various military domains: from reconnaissance and logistics to field support missions. Thanks to its comprehensive network, the Ukrainian armed forces benefit from, among other things, shorter response times and improved supply security.
Marc Wietfeld, Co-Founder and CEO of Arx Robotics, says:
“This major order is a crucial vote of confidence and a clear mandate for scaling. By expanding the networked Gereon fleet, we are scaling a key capability with Ukraine and strengthening the German-Ukrainian partnership. At the same time, we are creating the foundation for a robust, locally anchored supply chain.”
The newly emerging production and service capacities at the front are commented on Igor Kornilov, CEO of Arx Ukraine:
"Manufacturing at our Ukrainian plant and cooperation with local partners accelerates the introduction of the equipment to the armed forces and ensures supply during operation. We are building capacities and expertise in Ukraine that create value beyond the scope of the order."
DefenseTech for Europe made in Munich
Arx Robotics is considered one of the leading DefenceTech-one of Europe's leading companies. With its modular platform architecture, Arx aims to advance the digital transformation of land forces and retrofit existing vehicle fleets with autonomy and sensor technology.
The Gereon series of unmanned ground vehicles and the AI-powered Mithra OS operating system are already deployed by several European armed forces and have been in operation in Ukraine since the beginning of the year. This new fleet agreement further expands the cooperation and underscores the Munich-based startup's role as a key player in security-relevant robotics and high-tech development in Europe.
