Rencore secures 13 million euros

The Munich-based specialist for governance, security and compliance receives fresh capital to drive its international expansion and the development of its governance platform.

The Munich startup Rencore Rencore has extended its Series A funding round to a total of approximately €13 million ($15 million). The round was led by European technology investor Hi Inov, along with existing investors UVC Partners and Capnamic Ventures. Rencore plans to use the additional capital to accelerate its international growth in Europe and North America and to expand its role in governance.

Rencore operates a cloud platform that helps companies manage and secure their Microsoft 365 environments. The software assists IT and compliance teams in adhering to policies, identifying risks, and automating workflows. The goal is to make collaboration secure and compliant across large organizations.

Governance for the responsible use of AI

Building on its existing Microsoft 365 governance, Rencore has extended its platform with features for AI and agent governance. This enables companies to understand how AI systems interact with business data and what security or compliance risks arise. The solution is primarily aimed at IT managers and those responsible for deploying AI applications in a controlled and compliant manner within the corporate environment.

Existing customers include Amgen, Honeywell, the Lufthansa Group, and Siemens Healthineers. They use the platform to control data access, enforce security regulations, and keep the operation of AI systems within legal limits.

Julius Jürgen, partner at Hi Inov, emphasizes:

"The increasing adoption of AI in businesses creates new challenges in governance, security, and compliance. Rencore is well-positioned to manage this complexity, as the company consistently extends its proven Microsoft 365 governance to AI systems."

Expansion planned in Europe and North America

With the new funding, Rencore primarily intends to expand its development and product teams and broaden its international sales activities. The company also plans to collaborate more closely with system integrators and managed service providers to establish governance structures for the secure deployment of AI in enterprises.

Matthias Einig, co-founder and CEO of Rencore, explains:

“Today, companies must control not only their data, but also the AI systems that access it. This new capital will help us advance this mission while simultaneously expanding our presence in Europe and North America.”
