The Blickfeld is entering a new chapter: The LiDAR specialist and the Canadian Senstar Technologies Corporation have entered into a binding agreement under which Blickfeld will become part of Senstar. The companies plan to close the transaction in the first quarter of 2026, subject to necessary regulatory approvals. This has been ongoing for almost two years. Both sides are working together.
Blickfeld was founded in Munich in 2017 by Mathias Müller, Rolf Wojtech, and Florian Petit. The company develops high-precision 3D LiDAR sensors with integrated software. These sensors generate precise three-dimensional information about the shape and surface properties of surrounding objects for applications in security, industry, and transportation. With its QbProtect 3D security LiDAR, Blickfeld established an early presence in the security market. The startup also holds numerous semiconductor and technology patents.
Strategic addition in the security market
For Senstar The acquisition represents a targeted expansion of the company's portfolio. The international provider of security solutions intends to enhance its AI-powered multisensor solutions with Blickfeld's technology. This combination is expected to accelerate market penetration in the security segment. Simultaneously, it opens up new application areas in industry, transportation, and automation.
Despite the acquisition, both companies will remain largely independent. Blickfeld and its subsidiary Blickfeld North America will continue to operate under their existing names as Senstar subsidiaries. Mathias Müller will continue to lead the company as CEO and manage his existing team.
