Flix acquires majority stake in Flibco

Flix is entering the European airport transfer market with a majority stake in Flibco. The acquisition complements the company's mobility offerings and opens up new growth prospects for both partners in the travel market.

Flix is accelerating its expansion in the European mobility market and has acquired a majority stake in the airport transfer platform Flibco. The Luxembourg-based company was previously part of the Sales-Lentz Group (SLG) portfolio. This investment gives Flix access to an established network for airport connections and strengthens its offerings beyond long-distance bus and train services. SLG will remain on board as a minority shareholder and strategic partner.

For Flix, the acquisition marks another step in expanding its portfolio. Traveltech Flix already operates targeted airport transfers in Sweden and serves numerous airports across Europe with its long-distance buses. Based on this, Flix sees great potential for additional, specialized airport connections. Flibco contributes its experience, market knowledge, and a proven business model to this endeavor.

Strategic addition in the travel market

Flibco is one of the leading providers of airport transfers in Europe. In cooperation with local bus partners, the company organizes journeys to seven countries. Its asset-light business model and focus on digital and innovative products align with Flix's approach. Both companies rely on scalable platforms and a fully digital booking experience.

Flix CEO André Schwämmlein emphasizes the strategic importance of the entry:

“Our experience clearly shows that customers are looking for reliable and affordable ways to travel between cities and easily reach airports. Our investment in Flibco allows us to specifically expand into the airport transfer segment. Flibco has built a strong business in a fragmented market, and we see enormous potential to further expand it using our reach, expertise, and integration into the Flix platform.”

Continuity and growth at Flibco

SLG also sees the partnership as a milestone. Marc Sales, partner of SLG, explains:

“We developed the Flibco concept with the vision of becoming the market leader in airport mobility. Finding a partner who shares this ambition and is growing as fast as we are is a milestone for us. As a family-run company, innovation has always been at the heart of everything we do. With Flix at our side, we can further develop this vision and unlock new growth opportunities for our entire group.”

Travellers continue to book their tickets directly through the Flibco websiteAdditionally, Flix is integrating Flibco's connections into its own platform and apps. The management team and employees will remain on board. Flibco will continue to operate from its headquarters in Luxembourg under the leadership of its CEO. Tobias Stüber, who says:

“The partnership with Flix is the next milestone in Flibco’s successful growth story. We share the same vision of making affordable and sustainable mobility accessible to everyone. By combining Flibco’s innovative strength and operational excellence with Flix’s global network, we will be able to expand into new markets faster than ever before. At the same time, we remain committed to providing our passengers with a fully digital, comfortable, and reliable travel experience – from booking to arrival at the terminal.”
