The Bavaria Israel Partnership Accelerator (BIPA) is entering a new phase. It's a four-month program in which Bavarian and Israeli participants interested in starting a business will jointly develop customized solutions to challenges facing companies like Siemens and Audi. The overarching theme: innovation projects in the field of digitalization.
The acceleration program consists of a one-week workshop in Munich and a fourteen-week virtual acceleration phase. During this time, the Bavarian-Israeli teams work on solutions for the companies – for example, in the areas of Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things, automotive/smart mobility, healthcare/medtech, and IT security – while simultaneously pursuing their jobs and/or studies.
Results will be presented in Munich
This process is made possible through virtual mentoring and the use of online collaboration tools. The program concludes with a one-day presentation of the results, which will also take place in Munich for the Bavarian students.
The initiative, which is funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, is backed by the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship of the Munich University of Applied Sciences, the FOM University of Applied Sciences, 4Entrepreneurship and the Tel Aviv-Yaffo Academic College with its incubator “StartHub”.
“Our overarching goal is to develop sustainable economic relations between Bavaria and Israel,”
emphasized Prof. Dr. Guy Katz, who is responsible for the project on the FOM side.
"Both countries can contribute their strengths in a targeted manner and complement each other: Israel as a 'start-up nation' and Bavaria as an internationally valued hub for technical innovations."
Applications are possible until July 20
Those who participate in the program only pay a personal contribution of up to 150 euros. This includes costs for hotels, transfers, mentoring, etc.
“The plan is for the teams to continue working together beyond the duration of the program,”
says Prof. Dr. Katz.
"It's also possible that the company for which solutions are being developed will take over. So the money is a good investment in your professional future."
