NuuEnergy has closed its seed round with €4.3 million. Amberra, the corporate venturing studio of the cooperative financial group Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken, led the financing. Enjoy Venture and existing investors HTGF, Vireo Ventures, Better Ventures, and Bynd Venture Capital also participated.
The Startup Founded at the end of 2023, the company focuses on building regional heat pump installation businesses. It plans and installs heat pumps and offers long-term maintenance contracts. Additionally, it sells value-added services such as water softening systems and energy consulting. With the new capital, the startup will drive the establishment and expansion of regional specialist trades businesses and further digitize the installation process.
Regional hubs with digital support
Switching to heat pumps can significantly reduce the CO2 emissions of buildings. At the same time, a shortage of skilled workers and inefficient processes are slowing down the market. NuuEnergy addresses this issue, positioning itself between traditional craft businesses and digital "neo-installers." The company is recruiting skilled workers for its regional hubs through modern software tools and attractive working conditions. Currently, technicians are working in the greater Munich, Hamburg and Cologne areas.
“Our customers want a local contact person who guides them through the entire process – with the highest quality in planning, installation, and service. With the cooperative financial group and Enjoy Venture, we now have further strong players on board who support us with capital and expertise in developing the business model. The cooperative banks can also provide our customers with tailored financing solutions and give the local energy transition a further boost.”
explained Tobias Klug, co-founder of NuuEnergy.
"This benefits our regional focus on quality. Last but not least, our craftsmen, the heart of our company, also benefit from this."
supplemented Julia Rafschneider, co-founder of NuuEnergy.
Investors focus on craftsmanship
The investors also emphasize the strategic importance of the investment. Björn Schmuck, Managing Director of Amberra, comments:
"With our investment in NuuEnergy, the cooperative financial group is actively shaping the energy-efficient modernization of residential buildings in Germany. The cooperation with the startup enables the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken to combine regional value creation with digital financing processes. What particularly impressed us about NuuEnergy was the close collaboration with local craft businesses – and thus also with our banks' customers."
And Gerrit Gnisa, Investment Manager at EnjoyVenture, says:
“Most of our investors are themselves deeply rooted in the Mittelstand (SME sector). We strongly believe in NuuEnergy’s mission and positioning, in the goal of leading genuine, regional craftsmanship into the future. I can say with a clear conscience that I would buy a heat pump from NuuEnergy myself. The team isn’t focused on digital sales, but on genuine, long-term innovation in craftsmanship and technology.”
