Smartvillage GmbH has secured growth financing in the mid-seven-figure range. The investor is Stuttgart-based investment company EKK & Co. Smartvillage operates B2B event locations for meetings, workshops and conferences. The company is responding to changing work realities: remote work is becoming increasingly established, traditional offices are losing relevance and artificial intelligence is changing work processes. At the same time, companies face the challenge of maintaining team culture and innovative strength in hybrid structures. This is exactly where Smartvillage positions itself with data-driven, AI-supported concepts along the entire customer journey.

Expansion and new platform strategy

Smartvillage is entering the next growth phase with this financing. Over the next twelve months, two new locations will be established in Frankfurt and Hamburg. The company currently operates two locations in Munich as well as additional sites in Cologne and Berlin.

In parallel, Smartvillage is developing the product “smartvillage as a service”. The solution is aimed at hotels that want to outsource their conference areas. The company takes over branding, technology, sales and operations. Hotels can thus increase their space efficiency and reduce costs, while Smartvillage scales its platform beyond its own locations.

New work environment as growth driver

In the long term, Smartvillage sees itself as part of a new work infrastructure and understands physical interaction as a strategic factor in modern work. Teams use the locations strategically for intensive work phases. This should allow companies to reduce fixed costs for office space and deliberately invest in high-quality in-person formats.

Co-founder and CEO Lukas Koppitz says:

“Artificial intelligence makes knowledge work more efficient, but it doesn’t replace human connection. We see with many companies that purely digital collaboration can in the long term lead to less engagement, lower identification and declining innovation. Our locations are therefore deliberately designed as places for focused collaboration. Not as an office, but as infrastructure for the moments when teams really need to come together”.

Investor Moritz Reck also emphasizes:

“The way collaboration happens in companies is changing noticeably. Personal interaction is becoming important again. This is exactly where Smartvillage comes in and creates spaces where collaboration becomes truly tangible. We were particularly impressed by the uncompromising clarity with which the team has built this concept around digital infrastructure, branding and operational execution. We are convinced by the team behind Smartvillage and are very much looking forward to taking the next growth steps together.”
