Nestlé secures Yfood

Anyone strolling through the supermarket can't miss Yfood anymore. Now there's a major change that's transforming the Munich-based startup into a global corporate brand: Nestlé is acquiring Yfood.

The next step for Yfood is global. For this, the brand needs a partner with worldwide distribution and infrastructure. The past three years of partnership with Nestlé have proven that Yfood is internationally scalable and profitable. We are handing over Yfood at the point where the brand is ready for the world – and to the partner who can take it there.”

And co-founder Benjamin Kremer added:

“Our fantastic team at Yfood has written a success story in recent years in terms of brand building, sales growth, and profitability, something we are all very proud of. With Yfood, we have created a completely new food category, ‘Smart Food,’ and thus captured the spirit of an entire generation. Yfood will continue to operate as an independent company based in Munich. Following the completion of the transaction, Nestlé manager Jolanda Schwirtz will take over as head of the management team.
