The "Plan BThe business plan competition is aimed at founders in the field of "renewable resources." The transition from an oil-based to a bio-based industrial society requires the use of a variety of different renewable resources—and thus offers many opportunities to position new business ideas on the market.
Who can participate in “PlanB”?
The competition is aimed at founders who want to contribute to a more sustainable future with their business idea and who want to turn their idea into a viable business plan or their own company.
Anyone who wants to implement their business idea related to renewable resources and Bavaria can participate.
“From the farm refinery to the dealer of biodegradable coffee cups to the enzyme-designing chemist, anyone can participate in this competition if they can show how we can become less dependent on oil and create added value in our country,”
says Andreas Löffert, Managing Director of the competition organizer BioCampus Straubing GmbH.
How does it work and what can you win?
Those interested in starting a business must submit a five-page outline online by August 15. If the idea convinces the jury, they move on to Phase 2: personalized business coaching with free expert workshops and one-on-one consultations. Support is also provided with preparing a financial plan.
After the business plans are submitted on December 5, 2016, the expert jury will select the best entries in this phase. They can still influence their placement by presenting a pitch at the awards ceremony in late January 2017.
There are prizes of up to 5,000 euros, one year of business coaching and, for the first place winner, one year of rent-free accommodation in a starter unit at the Straubing start-up center BioCubator.
