Even though Frederik Brantner was honored as an “Innovator under 35,” he emphasizes: “Such an award is always for a whole team.” And this includes Lukas Zanger and Nikolas Engelhard, with whom Brantner won the Magazino GmbH The Munich-based startup develops and builds perception-controlled, mobile robots for intralogistics.

TORU – the intelligent logistics robot from Magazino

Until now, logistics robots could only transport entire pallets or crates automatically. TORU, Magazino's latest development, has the ability to identify and grasp individual objects. To automate this process, the company developed several technologies: The object is measured by a 3D camera, and its position and gripping point are determined. An algorithm then calculates how the object can be placed in the most space-optimized way possible.

For his innovative concept, the German edition of MIT Technology Review honored Frederik Brantner as one of its ten "Innovators Under 35 in Germany." The award is considered one of the most important honors for young innovators. Previous winners include Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Daniel Ek of Spotify.

The winners of the German edition are automatically nominated for the international list of the 35 best innovators under 35, which are selected annually by the US MIT Technology Review.
