Green startups and startup sponsors can apply for the StartGreen Award until August 14. Anyone who wants to start a business in the field of climate protection and sustainability, has already founded a business, or is helping others to start a business is eligible to participate. The price will be four categories forgive:
- Founding concept,
- startups,
- Young companies and
- Start-up promoters.
The total prize money is 50,000 euros. Also waving Non-cash prizes and the Access to experts as well as a large partner network.
New this year — the leap onto the international stage
The RKW Competence Center is also supporting the StartGreen Award 2016 with the special prize “Cleantech Open Global Ideas Challenge” — meaning three winning teams will travel to San Francisco for the presentation in February 2017.
The startups are evaluated in three categories depending on their current financing volume: financing (equity and grants) up to 1 million, 1 to 5 million and over 5 million.
StartGreen Award: Focus on green founders
“As the world’s first national start-up initiative for the Green Economy, we want to use the StartGreen Award to make green founders and start-up promoters more visible and connect them,” said Prof. Dr. Klaus Fichter, head of the award, about the background.
The award ceremony will take place on November 15, 2016, at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB). Federal Environment Minister Dr. Barbara Hendricks is the patron of the award: “I support the StartGreen Award because it recognizes innovative start-up concepts and young companies that contribute to climate protection with their products and services.”
