How can startups and city administration drive forward the innovation landscape together? This question is at the heart of the City Demo Day, which was initiated by the Referat für Arbeit und Wirtschaft der Landeshauptstadt München. At the event, which is taking place for the second time on November 13, representatives of Munich city administration and other municipalities meet the startup scene of the Munich innovation ecosystem.

In addition to taking a closer look at the opportunities for collaboration between city administration and startups, the public procurement process will also be explored in talks and workshops. Furthermore, startups are invited to pitch their ideas and exchange directly with the city’s contact persons.

Each edition of the City Demo Day focuses on a different topic area. The first edition of the event covered food & energy. The upcoming event now focuses on mobility. Startups that want to participate on November 13 and pitch their ideas can apply until September 30. There is also the option to have a booth. In addition to numerous startups, representatives from all city departments as well as some subsidiaries, other municipalities, and startup centers are expected to attend.

Applications can be submitted via email to citydemoday@studio-stadt-region.de. They should include a brief description of the startup (1-2 sentences) as well as an explanation of why the startup wants to participate and what expectations it has for cooperation with the city (2-3 sentences).

Further information about the City Demo Day is also available on the Munich Business website.
