The Munich education startup Ubimaster has raised seven million euros in a Series A financing round. The round includes both national and international investors, including US venture capital firm Owl Ventures, Bayern Kapital, Amberra, Auxxo, as well as European edtech investors Zanichelli Ventures and MPA Capital.
With the fresh capital, the Munich startup plans to advance its expansion further. The focus is on internationalization and scaling additional digital education products.
Flexible online learning support for greater equal opportunity
Ubimaster’s tutoring platform addresses the needs of students and trainees in a tailored manner and at fixed prices. This means users are directly connected with a qualified tutor instead of just accessing learning plans and instructional videos. According to the startup, it takes a maximum of two minutes for the right contact person to respond – and this is available seven days a week.
Ubimaster offers its products to both parents and companies. The latter can integrate the service into their employee benefits programs and thus support all children of their workforce, regardless of parental income. Jana Krotsch, CEO and founder of Ubimaster, emphasizes:
“Ubimaster is much more than just online learning support for us. It is a vision for the future of education. Our learning and tutoring is flexible, individual, unlimited and tailored to the needs of each child. And the best part: for everyone who receives Ubimaster through their company as an employee or product benefit, it is free. With this new financing round, we can now invest more heavily in the further development of Ubimaster.”
Investors share education vision
The participating investors see in Ubimaster a company with great social and economic potential. The startup’s role in promoting equal opportunity in education is particularly highlighted. Jenny Wang, partner at Owl Ventures, comments:
“We have supported Ubimaster since 2022 and are proud of the incredible value the startup brings to families in the DACH region. We look forward to accompanying Jana, Steffen and the entire Ubimaster team through the next exciting chapter.”
And Matthias Buchinger, investment manager at Bayern Kapital, is convinced:
“With Ubimaster, we are investing in a company that addresses two of the most important future topics: education and social participation. Moreover, the Ubimaster team has already demonstrated through impressive growth in recent years that their approach has potential for international success. Accordingly, we are happy to accompany the company on its continued growth path.”
