Munich Startup – Together we shape the future of Munich’s startup ecosystem!
We are part of the Munich Business Centers and Technology Centers Company (MGH). The MGH is a holding company of the Landeshauptstadt München and operates nine business centers for craft businesses and manufacturing, a technology center (MTZ), as well as spaces for the creative industries in Kreativfeld and Kreativlabor, and Munich Startup.
As the official platform for technology-oriented and innovative startups, we inform, network, and support Munich’s startup ecosystem. In addition to our editorial work, we engage in strategic projects, organize the Munich Startup Festival, and represent the Munich startup scene on national and international stages.
What we’re looking for
As a project manager startup promotion & platform management, these are your main areas of work:
1. Project coordination of the new Munich Startup Platform 2.0
- Responsibility for the relaunch and further development of the platform cms.munich-startup.de
- Management of external service providers (technology, design, editorial)
- Coordination of internal processes, testing, and quality assurance
- Conception and implementation of new digital offerings to strengthen Munich as a startup location
2. Project management of the Munich Startup Festival (annually)
- Planning, organization, and execution of the Munich Startup Festival in close coordination with partners and service providers
- Responsibility for program planning, communication, sponsorship, and logistics
- Follow-up and evaluation of the festival
3. Network & community / events & collaborations
- Maintenance and expansion of Munich Startup’s network with founders, stakeholders, and partners from Munich and internationally
- Development and implementation of networking formats, meetups, panels, or workshops
- Representation of Munich Startup at events, conferences, and forums – nationally and internationally
Your profile
- Successfully completed university degree
- Professional experience in event and/or project management, ideally in the field of startups, digitalization, or innovation
- Strong interest in new technologies and innovation promotion
- Independent working style, organizational talent, and high level of initiative
- Strong communication skills in writing and speech in German and English (fluent/business proficiency)
- Experience with content management systems (WordPress, Typo3) is advantageous
- Enjoyment of networking, events, and teamwork
- Willingness to travel occasionally and flexibility with working hours
