Bayern Kapital is investing in Secfix for the first time. The venture and growth capital company of the Free State invests in the Munich startup through the ScaleUp Fund Bavaria. The startup is raising a total of 10.3 million euros (12 million US dollars) in its Series A financing round. In addition to Bayern Kapital, lead investor Alstin Capital and existing investor Neosfer, the early-stage investor of the Commerzbank Group, are also participating.

Secfix develops an AI-powered end-to-end platform for security and compliance conformity. Founded in 2021, the company serves SMEs and mid-market companies in Europe. Regulatory complexity is increasing in many industries, while the time and cost required for certifications is growing. Smaller companies in particular often lack sufficient resources to meet regulatory requirements efficiently.

The Secfix platform helps companies achieve certifications such as ISO 27001, NIS2, DORA, or GDPR. Specifically, the startup offers continuous monitoring, incident and access management, security questionnaires, gap analyses, policy reviews, cloud security scans, and comprehensive guidance. Currently, the customer base comes primarily from highly regulated industries such as banking and finance or the energy sector.

Capital for expansion and further development

With the fresh capital, Secfix aims to advance European expansion and further develop its AI-based CISO-as-a-Service offering. Fabiola Munguia, CEO and co-founder of Secfix, explains:

“Our first step was to support companies in obtaining security and compliance certifications quickly and easily. Now we are taking it further and want to become a trusted security and compliance partner for everything that comes after. Our goal is to become Europe’s leading provider of end-to-end security and compliance conformity – a partner that supports companies from their first ISO 27001 certification and grows with them throughout their entire security and compliance journey.”

And Monika Steger, CEO of Bayern Kapital, comments:

“Secfix not only has a team with many years of experience and extensive expertise in security, compliance, and B2B, but also offers a scalable SaaS solution with impressive AI features that are relevant to companies across numerous sectors. The Secfix platform can already be used productively today to simplify security and compliance processes and offers great potential in the future – just like Secfix does for us as an investment.”
