From November 17 to 19, the Süddeutsche Zeitung will host its annual business summit at Berlin's Hotel Adlon. For the first time, startups have the opportunity to participate in the "Gipfelstürmer" competition. Applications are open until October 10.
The list of speakers at the SZ Economic Summit reads like a who's who of European politics and business: German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French Prime Minister Manuel Valls will attend. Josef Ackermann, TUM Professor Ann-Kristin Achleitner, the CEOs of Siemens and BMW, Joe Kaeser and Harald Krüger, as well as numerous other CEOs, ministers, and association presidents have also confirmed their attendance. The Munich startup scene will be represented by Bits & Pretzels organizer Felix Haas, NavVis founder Felix Reinshagen, and Philipp Depiereux, founder and managing director of etventure.
Eight “summit stormers” pitch at SZ Economic Summit
This year, even more young companies have the opportunity to break into this elite circle: The SZ newspaper is hosting its own startup competition for the first time at the Economic Summit. German startups between six months and five years old can apply until October 10, 2016. A jury will select eight finalists from all applicants. These finalists will be invited to participate in the event and have the chance to interact with high-profile speakers. The eight finalist startups will also pitch at the Economic Summit on November 18.
