Through the Storybox app, company employees can create and organize video material on their smartphones. The app supports video creation via mobile phone step by step using intuitive templates. It also automatically suggests image settings and scene lengths, including in pre-defined corporate design. Content is stored in the GDPR-compliant Storybox cloud and can be accessed, filtered and analyzed from anywhere.
Use cases range from recruiting and employer branding to marketing and knowledge transfer. For this reason, Storybox can be used for tutorials and instructions as well as for documenting events or summarizing workshops. In this context, the company states that around 75 percent of employees prefer videos to text.
“In our view, Storybox is the perfect startup investment”
Most recently, the Munich-based startup secured funding in 2020. The HTGF, CK Ventures and BayBG invested a single-digit million amount. Back then, Katja Ruhnke, CEO of CK Venture Capital, said about their investment:
“In our view, Storybox is the perfect startup investment. Strong founder personalities are combined here with a smart product idea and a well-thought-out business strategy. The video content solution is versatile, future-oriented and offers, in our view, indispensable communication options for any type of company. As investors, we are very proud to be part of this story.”
The startup was founded in 2017 by CEO Ben Rodrian and CTO Rusmin Causevic. Storybox’s customers include companies such as Allianz, Deutsche Telekom and DB Schenker. Ben Rodrian explains what he plans to use the 1.5 million euros now raised for:
“With the new investment, we want to further expand our position as a pioneer in asynchronous video communication and invest in product and geographic expansion.”
