“A wheat beer to go, please!” – VENDL makes it possible

Drinking a beer with friends on the Isar River in the evening – what could be better? But drinking wheat beer from a bottle isn't everyone's cup of tea, and who wants to bring a heavy beer glass with them? The startup VENDL has the solution: a bottle that transforms into a beer glass.

VENDLHere's how it works: VENDL beer is bottled in a lightweight plastic bottle with a shatter-proof nanoglass coating. Before opening, the bottle is rotated 180 degrees so the yeast can settle and a beautiful head of foam can form. Then simply open it and attach the cap to the bottom as a base. The perfect wheat beer is ready!

Furthermore, VENDL is compatible with all common filling systems, allowing it to be integrated into the existing cycle from filling to recycling without any additional costs. The founders Dominique Felsch and Simon Nüesch They completed both a business and a technical degree program, enabling them to implement their innovation in the best possible way. The two quickly realized that they were the perfect dream team:

"We met by chance in the courtyard of the Technical University. We were sitting at the same table and realized we were both going to Israel. Since Simon was the first in Tel Aviv, he offered me to stay with him for the first few days. During our time there, we built up a small spice business. We immediately realized we could work together brilliantly. After our return, we wanted to continue working together and were both completely convinced about a beer-to-go. So we put the spice business on hold and threw ourselves fully into VENDL's product development. Our academic and professional backgrounds complement each other to make this innovative packaging both market-ready and ready for series production."

says Dominique.

VENDL_1280px@2xThanks to the Zeidler scholarship for the Maker Space, the prototype workshop of UnternehmerTUM, they were able to give shape to their idea and produce the first product series. UnternehmerTUM also supported the team in preparing for investor meetings and contacting the first SmartMoney investor and production specialist, among other things.

VENDL will be available from spring 2017.
