TUM IdeAward 2016 – let's get started

This year, the Technical University of Munich is once again seeking ideas with market potential for the TUM IdeAward 2016. Anyone who has (or has not) conducted scientific work at the Technical University of Munich and who would like to bring a scientific idea or technology to market is welcome to apply. Up to €15,000 in prize money and coaching from the TUM Startup Consulting team are up for grabs.

Alumni and scientists of the Technical University of Munich – submit your ideas!

All scientists and alumni of the university are invited to submit their idea by 15.11.2016 to apply. Inventions and technologies with commercial potential can be submitted in the form of dissertations, bachelor's and master's theses, or other project work. Applications from women are expressly welcomed.

TUM IdeAward 2016 – the focus of the selection

The application will be reviewed against the following four categories:

  • Innovative content and state of the art,
  • Market and competition,
  • team
  • Implementation perspective

The competition is organized by TUM in cooperation with  UnternehmerTUM  and the  Zeidler Research Foundation  The first to third place winners of the competition will receive financial support from the Zeidler Research Foundation and coaching from the TUM Start-up Consulting.

  • 1st place: 15,000 euros
  • 2nd place: 12,500 euros
  • 3rd place: 10,000 euros

The competition takes place once a year and is designed to motivate scientists to turn their ideas into innovative and competitive spin-offs. One of the 2015 winners was the team from  Dynamic Components, here in Conversation with us.
