2016 is a good year for Celonis and it keeps getting better: After a whole series of positive news The Munich-based big data specialists have now won the prestigious “EY Entrepreneur of the Year” award 2016 in the startup category.
Hubert Barth, Chairman of the EY Management Board in Germany, calls the prize, which is awarded annually in 60 countries, quite immodestly the “Oscar for entrepreneurship.” It is about
“to honor outstanding entrepreneurs who have the gift of making things happen, inspiring people, making utopias come true, and taking responsibility.”
Award is a “significant milestone”
Co-founder and Co-CEO of Celonis Bastian Nominacher says:
"When Alexander Rinke, Martin Klenk, and I founded Celonis, we knew that we wanted to use our technology to change how companies around the world conduct and manage their business. We have now assembled an outstanding team of employees, investors, and collaborating scientists with whom we are realizing this vision. We are all very proud of this award as a significant milestone."
Celonis was founded in 2011 out of the Technical University of Munich and, according to its own statements, is already the global market leader in big data technology process mining. Companies, regardless of their industry, can use the Celonis software to analyze and significantly streamline their own processes. Customers from 25 countries are already using the technology. Software giant SAP entered into a partnership with the startup last year and offers the product in its global portfolio.
