Onward, ever onward — News from Shore

New headquarters, new CFO, partially restructured organizational structure – a lot is happening at digitalization expert Shore. What remains unchanged, however, is the Munich startup's growth trajectory. Among other things, the software provider has increased its workforce to almost 250.

Shore has now moved from Munich's eastern district to Stiglmaierplatz. The new office in Munich's Seidl Forum, at 2,200 square meters, offers more than twice the space of its previous location. It's good for team spirit: All employees are located in one office and no longer have to work across different floors, as was the case in the old office.

Because they want to maintain the startup spirit at all costs, they've recently been experimenting with a new organizational structure by dividing individual project teams into interdisciplinary squads. Think & Drink Fridays have also been firmly established. Here, as the name suggests, people can talk and reflect on current projects. And they can also just have a beer. This is often the simplest and most effective team-building exercise.

Growth rate speaks for itself

The square meter figure sounds good. But other figures, aka growth rates, also speak for themselves:

  • Accumulated total sales January-October 2016 compared to 2015: + 195 %
  • Number of customers: + 60 %
  • Number of end customers managed by service providers with Shore: + 185 %
  • Number of appointments created with Shore: + 223 %.

"We see the new headquarters as a testament to our success. The fact that we have more than doubled our footprint has only been possible because we have worked hard for our success over the past few years, and all the numbers are moving in the right direction."

so Philip Magoulas, founder and CEO of Shore.

The Munich team has also strengthened its personnel. Claudia Kock A new Chief Financial Officer has been recruited who has extensive experience in international companies. The Munich resident has held roles including CFO Europe for Allianz Global Investors, where she played a key role in the successful development of the European asset management business.

"Shore has developed impressively in recent years. This is partly due to the fact that, as a pioneer in the field of SMB digitalization, Shore has a strong product with already good market penetration, and digitalization is ultimately one of the key topics for our customer group. This means that Shore has excellent growth potential – not only in its current core markets, but also beyond. I am very pleased to be part of this young, innovative, and powerful team."
