Two other UnternehmerTUM teams also made it to the finals: ParkHere and Inveox – but it wasn’t enough for victory.

"We are extremely pleased to be awarded the Neumacher Founders' Prize 2016. This is a particularly great honor and encourages us to continue. Germany doesn't have to remain the European champion in packaging waste, especially not in plastic packaging. We already have sustainable alternatives for shipping packaging and are working on further solutions for other packaging areas,"

says Landpack Managing Director Dr. Thomas Maier-Eschenlohr about the victory. Together with his wife, he developed a packaging box made from natural raw materials such as straw or hemp:

“Our packaging performs even better than Styrofoam, looks fantastic and is a purely natural product,”

says Maier-Eschenlohr. With their sustainable product, the couple aims to revolutionize the packaging industry in the long term. Customers include online grocery retailers and industrial customers who need to transport special adhesives or chemicals under refrigeration.
