The Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology, in cooperation with Bayern International, is organizing a delegation trip to Sweden and Norway from May 1 to 5, 2017, on the topics of "Mobility of the Future" and "Digital Economy." Destinations include Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Oslo.
Sweden and Norway are characterized by a high degree of innovation and openness to new technologies. “Mobility of the Future” and “Digital Economy” They are among the pioneers in Europe. They offer the highest level of expertise in business and research, and, from a government perspective, an ideal environment for developing and testing innovations.
“Mobility of the Future”
The governments of both countries are massively promoting sustainable mobility. Numerous funding programs have been launched and pilot projects initiated. Swedish companies rank high on the list of innovative idea generators for the "mobility of the future." Numerous startups and small and medium-sized enterprises are active in the market. The world's largest all-electric car-sharing system is headquartered in this country. Furthermore, the major Swedish automotive companies are working on future-related topics in passenger and freight transport. Numerous research institutions and initiatives are also seeking the best solutions for the "mobility of the future." Norway plans to ban cars with combustion engines from 2025 and is considered a leading market for electromobility. It is not for nothing that Oslo is called the capital of electric cars. In this innovation-friendly environment, Bavarian companies also find optimal conditions for testing new product developments.
“Digital Economy”
The IT industry in Sweden and Norway is experiencing strong growth, especially in mobile and IP-based broadband services and cloud applications. A high proportion of research and development spending goes to IT. This is one of the reasons why experts believe these countries offer an excellent environment for the development and early commercialization of new IT products and services. The Swedish startup scene is particularly strong in the gaming and fintech sectors. Norway promises significant market potential in healthcare and financial administration and is well positioned in IT security.
The aim of the trip is to stimulate intensive exchange and share experiences in these technology areas through technical discussions, company visits and networking meetings. This is intended to help increase the innovative power of the Bavarian economy and initiate successful cooperation with Sweden and Norway.
The trip is aimed at innovation-oriented and network-oriented Bavarian companies from both thematic areas. Established companies and startups are equally welcome, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises.
