What kind of hack is this, in terms of taste? Good question, we thought. The organizers of the PULS Hackdays, Tom Bauer and Sebastian Mark, were able to help us. Important: If you would like to participate in the PULS Hackdays, you can apply until February 12th.
The PULS Hackdays will take place again from March 3rd to 5th, 2017 – what can we expect?
Quite a lot. We're opening the doors of our striking broadcasting center and, in addition to a lavish buffet throughout the weekend, we're offering an interesting supporting program. The program includes topic-related presentations, a chill-out area, and a few surprises that I don't want to reveal yet. Furthermore, various mentors and experts from the BR will be on hand to answer questions from all participants.
What topics are in focus?
We want to present all participants with concrete tasks. To this end, we have developed seven so-called "challenges" that the participants should work on. The challenges address, among other things, the following areas: Social media, bots & AI, podcasts or the digitalization of off-air events such as festivals. If someone doesn't identify with these topics, there's also a "free track" where all other ideas are stored. Details about the challenges are explained in more detail on our website.
Who can participate?
We're looking for programmers, designers, journalists, or other media professionals and creatives. However, this isn't a requirement. Anyone 18 years or older who's interested in developing new things and networking can participate.
And what happens next with the developed projects?
On Sunday, an expert jury will examine all projects and solutions and select the hackathon winners. They will evaluate the project's fit with PULS, including its technology, content, innovation, and design. There's also the possibility of interesting projects being pursued further and implemented in the PULS program or at events.
But that's not our main focus. Our primary goal is to put together a cool event where new things emerge, people can meet each other, and there's plenty of fun to be had. Just like last year:
