In the premises of the KPMG Michael Pritzer first welcomed the numerous guests, the jury, and, of course, the startups that had made it to the final round. These were preceded by Best of X Ambassadors.

Afterwards, Gabriele Böhmer presented “Munich Startup – The official startup portal for Munich” and highlighted the special features of Munich as a business location using some impressive statistics. "Best of Munich – Munich is the best" was the title and motto of her presentation.

After Valentin Sawadski from tado After speaking about “Connected Products in a Dynamic World”, Jan C. Küster presented the concept of the Founders Fight Club and Best of X to those present, before Frederik Brantner (Magazine), Jochen Engert (FlixBus) and Felix Reinshagen (NavVis), who was also on the jury as last year's winner, spoke about their experiences starting a business.

The three agreed that it's essential for startups to "think big," to take risks, and to believe in themselves and their own ideas, while also accepting, or at least considering, outside advice time and again.

The pitch gets down to business

Then it was time for a break, a quick refreshment, a small snack before the hot phase of the pitches began. In the first round, ProGlove, Share, CrowdPatent, Simscale and Kinexon each other.

After another short break, ParkPocket, IDnow, Konux, Grillido and opentabs compete against each other in the second round.

After their pitch, all teams were thoroughly scrutinized by the jury, leaving some struggling for the right words. All in all, however, the participants delivered a very confident and impressive performance.

ProGlove can celebrate

In the end, the winners were decided: The team from ProGlove was the most convincing with its intelligent work glove, second place went to Grillido, who have set themselves the task of revolutionizing the bratwurst, and in third place came Simscale, a web platform that enables engineers to carry out sophisticated 3D simulations easily via a web browser.

During the subsequent networking, a small barbecue session in the KPMG courtyard was held, fitting for the mild evening. There, guests were treated to a variety of sausages from Grillido. The full range was offered, from combinations like chicken with spinach to beef with jalapeños. Thus, a successful event, which was clearly all about the sausage from start to finish, came to a successful conclusion.
