Just one month after launching the new dating app in February 2017, mayze founders Marianne Kraai and Dominic Phillips secured a high six-figure investment. The capital will be used to drive growth and roll out the city-based dating business model to additional cities. Plans include further development of the iOS app and the development of an Android app.
In addition to the Stylight founding team, consisting of Benjamin Günther, Sebastian Schuon, Max-Josef Meier, and Anselm Bauer, other business angels have joined mayze. These include Urs Keller (including billiger.de) and Munich's trendy restaurateur Max Braunmiller.

The highly competitive mobile dating sector is booming: Almost 12 million Germans seek their love on dating portals every month. Mobile dating, in particular, is becoming increasingly popular. Around two-thirds of all logins to dating portals are made from mobile devices. With mayze, the founders want to appeal to a young and discerning audience, as they say, that is looking for real dates rather than just superficial contacts, and for whom quality is more important than quantity.
