BayStartUP, the contact point for innovative founders supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, honored ten startups for their ideas last evening. From wheat beer to-go to 3D-printable fabric for medical technology to foldable micro-vehicles – the winners of Phase 1 of the 2017 Business Plan Competition (BPW) from Munich and Upper Bavaria prevailed among 130 participating teams.
The first phase of the 2017 business plan competitions began excitingly.
"The expert jury was spoiled for choice. From 130 teams, they first nominated the best 20 – and then selected the top 10,"
said Dr. Carsten Rudolph, Managing Director of BayStartUP. From the business idea to the team composition and growth and implementation potential, the ten award-winning companies impressed the panel with their innovations. The panel is comprised of successful entrepreneurs, managers, technical experts, and investors.
In the further phases of the Munich Business Plan Competition, the jury will primarily evaluate how the founders bring their products to market and how they attract investors with convincing financial planning.
“Great innovative power and a high degree of professionalism”
Robert Schindler, member of the board of HypoVereinsbank and responsible for the Unternehmer Bank, was impressed by the founders:
"The award-winning companies impress with their great innovative strength and high level of professionalism. A strong startup scene is of great importance for the future of the Bavarian and German economy. This is one of the reasons why HypoVereinsbank is a long-standing partner of BayStartUP."
