Agro Innovation Labs: BayWa seeks agricultural startups

Munich-based BayWa and Vienna-based RWA Raiffeisen Ware Austria are seeking agricultural innovations for their accelerator. Applications are open until the end of May.

Agro Innovation Lab GmbH (AIL), a joint venture between BayWa and RWA, is launching its second startup acceleration program. It is seeking young companies with agricultural innovations.

A jury of experts will select six startups from the applications. The winners will participate in the four-month acceleration program in Vienna and Munich in the second half of 2017, alternating between two locations, where they will receive support in further developing their business ideas and successfully positioning themselves in the market. Mentors from BayWa and RWA will provide advice.

“Great attention at the international level”

Reinhard Bauer, Managing Director of the Agro Innovation Lab, says:

"We are proud that the Agro Innovation Lab was able to attract significant international attention last year, and that we are now launching our second startup acceleration program. We look forward to receiving numerous applications from all over the world again this year."

According to the company, 160 startups from 49 countries applied for AIL's Startup Acceleration Program last year. Four companies from Italy, Slovakia, Israel, and Austria were selected.
