Wenglor takes over Munich-based company ShapeDrive

Baden-Württembergers on a shopping spree in Munich: Wenglor from Tettnang on Lake Constance takes over the Munich-based company ShapeDrive.

The 3D specialist is changing hands: Wenglor sensoric is acquiring 100 percent of the Munich-based company's shares. Founded in 2008, the company manufactures components and systems in the field of 3D coordinate measuring technology for industrial, medical, and scientific purposes. Wenglor intends to expand its 3D measuring technology portfolio through the acquisition.

Shaping the transformation to Industry 4.0 together

Dr. Matthias Rottenkolber, Managing Director of ShapeDrive GmbH, says about the takeover:

"We can't wait to work with wenglor. The company has an excellent, internationally oriented sales network and well-developed production capacities. In the coming years, the path to Industry 4.0 will significantly change the industrial landscape – particularly due to the increased level of automation, big data, and increasing networking in production. Together, we will actively shape this transformation."

ShapeDrive's product development and research will be integrated into the Wenglor site in Eching, north of Munich.
