The finalists for the German Founders' Prize 2017 The winners in the Startup and Rising Star categories have been announced. Six companies were nominated by the jury, including the Munich-based startup Grillido. The nominees will find out who will win the coveted award at the awards ceremony on June 20, 2017, at the ZDF capital studio in Berlin.
With its innovative meat products, the Munich-based startup Grillido among the finalists for this year's German Founders' Award in the Startup category. In addition to three up-and-coming companies that were no older than nine years, three startups were also nominated, i.e., companies between one and three years old that have been particularly successful in establishing their business idea on the market. The following startups have been nominated:
- Grillido GmbH from Munich: Low in fat, but high in flavor, good meat, no additives, and unique flavors—grilled sausages and fitness-style Landjäger sausages that health-conscious gourmets love to indulge in.
- JUMP House Holding from Hamburg: Jump from trampoline to trampoline on a length of up to 40 meters, play basketball or dodgeball while jumping, or climb along the wall like action heroes – everyone will find their favorite trampoline in Germany's first multidisciplinary trampoline park.
- Silexica GmbH from Cologne: Modern technical products like smartphones only function if the highly complex software in the background runs fast enough. Therefore, individual commands are executed in parallel on multiple processor cores. Silexica automates this complex parallelization process, which was previously performed manually. The RWTH Aachen spin-off was funded by the EXIST research transfer program.
Consulting and media training beckon
The finalists receive individual, tailored consulting from Porsche Consulting. In addition, members of the German Founders' Award Board of Trustees will mentor each finalist for a period of two years, sharing their expertise and experience. The winners also receive media training from ZDF and access to the German Founders' Award alumni network.
The companies were nominated by approximately 300 experts from the German Entrepreneurs' Award. They come from renowned companies, technology centers, ministries, start-up initiatives, and the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe (Savings Banks Finance Group). The experts have years of experience with company start-ups and extensive industry knowledge.
