Three Munich companies among the winners of the Science4Life Venture Cup 2017

In Wiesbaden, the Hessian state capital, the Science4Life Venture Cup honored ten life science startups. Munich-based companies dominated the top spots in the business plan competition.

Among the top five finishers are three startups from the Munich area. The top spot and €25,000 went to aidCURE, a local favorite from neighboring Frankfurt. The Garching-based medtech inveox follows in second place, securing €10,000. €5,000 goes to third-place fasciotens from Cologne. Tubulis Technologies and FerroSens, both based in Munich, each receive €3,000 in fourth and fifth place.

Munich winners are no strangers

All three Munich residents have appeared before: Over a Million-dollar investment in inveox We reported just yesterday. Tubulis Technologies, which is based in Berlin as well as Munich, landed at EIT Health on the podium. FerroSens recently won the Munich Business Plan Competition by BayStartUP.

Patron and Hesse's Minister of Economic Affairs Tarek Al-Wazir said:

“High-tech startups, with their innovations, are helping to convert our energy supply to renewable sources, to operate more sustainably, and to improve our healthcare system—to name just a few of the challenges we face.”

At the same time, according to Al-Wazir, high-tech start-ups secured the leading position of the business location and showed that economy and ecology fit together very well.
