Are you a young German ICT startup interested in the US market? Looking for venture capital and new customers?
Without outside help, German startups in the US need an average of 12-24 months to establish the necessary relationships with customers and investors. Compared to successful US startups, German entrepreneurs often simply lack the right relationships, networks, and concrete knowledge for a smooth US market entry.
The German American Chamber of Commerce New York (GACC NY) is therefore once again running its successful “STEP NYC Program” (= Startup & Entrepreneur Program New York City) from September 27th to October 2nd, 2015:
This 5-day travel program to New York City is aimed at ICT startups from across Germany that have already received seed financing or are about to complete it.
The gateway to the US market
The aim of STEP NYC is to open the door to the US market for German ICT startups as they internationalize:
- You will meet renowned US VC investors (e.g. ff Venture Capital, Lerer Ventures, First Round Capital or Union Square Ventures) in person and have the opportunity to pitch there.
- You will be trained by experts in the US market in tailor-made workshops on the topic of US market entry (legal, immigration, accounting, PR & Marketing, sales)
- You will meet exciting entrepreneurs in New York City: Startups like Kickstarter, Kitchen Surfing & Sailthru
- You meet potential US customers: We connect you with established companies
Interested startups can apply here until August 28, 2015.
These requirements should be met to participate in the STEP NYC Program:
Concrete business idea
– Scalable business model
– Recognizable international orientation (interest in entering the US market)
– Already successful customer acquisition in Germany and assertion on the German market
– Ideally, seed financing has already been completed.
