Startups developing clean energy solutions can now apply for investment from InnoEnergy year-round. Accordingly, all application deadlines have been waived.
Dr. Christian Müller, Managing Director of InnoEnergy Germany, explains the background:
"To create a sustainable energy future for Europe, we need to bring proven innovations to market faster. Changing to an open-application model gives innovators the opportunity to access the investment round's unique mix of technical and market expertise, financial support, and commercialization partners as soon as the time is right for their business, without having to wait for the next application deadline."
InnoEnergy has already invested 170 million euros
In 2017, seven new projects in the fields of renewable energies, smart and efficient buildings, and energy efficiency were included in the investment round. InnoEnergy has already invested a total of €13.5 million this year. Since launching its investment program in 2011, InnoEnergy has supported more than 90 projects with a total investment of €170.5 million, generating estimated revenues of €3 billion. This has resulted in 77 patents and consortia from a total of 323 project partners working on projects across Europe in eight technology areas.
