The TECHFEST 2017: High-tech workshop and festival atmosphere

Take 300 international participants from a wide range of disciplines, a 1,500 square meter high-tech workshop and a bit of a festival atmosphere with live bands, light installations, yoga, talks and lectures — and you get TECHFEST 2017. The UnternehmerTUM was already convincing with this concept last year and is therefore once again inviting makers, hackers and innovators from all over the world to implement exciting ideas in 72 hours.

"More than a Hackathon" — the UnternehmerTUM TECHFEST is entering its second round. From September 8th to 10th, 2017, computer scientists, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, biologists, hackers, makers, designers, fashion designers, filmmakers, and artists will once again have the opportunity to turn their ideas into new products or prototypes within 72 hours.

The prerequisites for successful implementation are in place, as the UnternehmerTUM provides the latest technologies and materials such as Hololens, Arduino, and TitanX. Furthermore, the participants, who work in teams of 3-5 people, are supported by workshops on idea generation, team building, and rapid prototyping.

Renowned partners are also on board again this year, including the City of Munich, Flixbus, Innogy, Tetra Pak, and Reply. Deutsche Telekom's Fashion Fusion, a cooperation partner from the fashion tech sector, is also participating. In collaboration with the Bavarian Film Center, TECHFEST will produce video clips that combine content and storytelling with the latest media technologies such as augmented and virtual reality.

Apply now!

Developing ideas and implementing them is one thing. But since TECHFEST is meant to be more than just a hackathon, it's also a place to celebrate. DJs, light shows, and bands will provide the perfect atmosphere. And maybe there will be one or two nighttime surprises.

Sounds good? Then apply now to participate in TECHFEST 2017.
