TÜV Süd takes over the Munich-based company founded in 2009 UnisconThe company, based in the MTZ, and its 45 employees develop secure cloud solutions for data processing.
Through this acquisition, TÜV Süd aims to position itself as a neutral operator of a secure and reliable platform for handling sensitive data. The availability of data and trust in its security are fundamental prerequisites for the functioning and further growth of the Internet of Things, says Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Stepken, Chairman of the Board of Management of TÜV Süd AG:
“At the same time, it is becoming increasingly important for companies to protect their own data and the data of their customers and suppliers, and to maintain control over how the data is used.”
Possible applications of Uniscon technology
The Munich-based company's internationally patented technology is designed to enable secure data processing in the cloud and prevent even the platform operator from accessing unencrypted data. According to Uniscon's managing director, Dr. Hubert Jäger, is a truly unique selling point of Uniscon's cloud solutions. According to the company, customers and partners include Deutsche Telekom and PwC.
As possible fields of application for TÜV Süd, their CDO Dr. Dirk Schlesinger Companies in the automotive or real estate sectors. Uniscon's so-called "Sealed Cloud Solution" can also be used, for example, to process data from vehicle inspections.
