WeWork Creator Award: Apply until September 12

Looking for bright ideas and passionate founders: The workspace community WeWork has launched the WeWork Creator Award to recognize, honor, and financially support talented entrepreneurs and visionary companies. You can submit applications in three different categories until September 12.

The awards, which are presented internationally, have a total value of $20 million. WeWork will award approximately $1.5 million of this in Germany to entrepreneurs, freelancers, artists, small and growing businesses, and non-profit and social organizations. WeWork does not acquire any company shares.

Prize is awarded in three categories

The prizes are awarded in three different categories:

The Incubate Award for self-employed people and entrepreneurs with an idea that needs support,
The Launch Award for newly founded companies or organizations that need support for the next steps,
The Scale Award for successful and established companies that want to continue to grow and face new challenges.

“As a company, we want to motivate people and help them do the things they love,”

says Eugen Miropolski, WeWork Managing Director for Europe and Israel.

“The Creator Awards offer aspiring entrepreneurs an excellent opportunity to present their ideas, business approaches and innovations to a large audience,”

says Miropolski.

“At WeWork, our mission is to empower creatives and creativity by every means and opportunity on their journey to economic and entrepreneurial success.”

Shoot an application video and travel to New York for the final

Participation in the Creator Awards is open to all – regardless of whether you are a WeWork member or not.

“Anyone who brings a new idea into the world, pursues their passion, or believes in something bigger than themselves is a ‘Creator’,”

says Miropolski.

The application process

In a 90-second application video, which can be quickly shot using a smartphone or webcam, applicants can provide a brief insight into their personality and the basics of their business idea. The video doesn't have to be professionally produced.

The first round of the awards will take place in Germany on September 26, 2017, in Berlin, following the presentations in Detroit on May 25 and Austin on June 27. This will be followed by London on September 14, Mexico City on October 19, and Tel Aviv on October 26. The winners of the local semifinals will then travel to grand finale to New York.
